The average hourly earnings of non-supervisory eating and drinking place employees increased at a 3.0 percent rate in the 12 months ending July 2010 – nearly a full percentage-point above the 2.1 percent gain in the average hourly earnings of total private sector non-supervisory employees during the same 12-month period. Within the restaurant industry, the average hourly earnings of non-supervisory employees in the fullservice segment grew at a solid 4.0 percent rate in the 12 months ending July 2010, while hourly wages in the limited-service segment increased at a lower 1.8 percent rate...
